Celebrate the 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF EARTH DAY by racing in costume as a Nature Super Hero or wear added accessories in honor of Earth Day! 1st place individuals and a 1st place group will receive a private tour of The Raptor Center with Raptor Photo Opps up close and personal! Dates for the private behind the scenes Raptor Center tour TBA at a mutually agreed upon date.

Registrations received after April 1 are not guaranteed a t-shirt.

You may also register in person on Saturday, April 25 at Packet Pick up 10-2 pm

or the day of the race on April 26. A $5 fee will be added to registrations April 25 and on the day of the race April 26. There are no refunds for this walk/race. Proceeds benefit Glen Helen Nature Preserve.

Dress in weather dependent layers Wear appropriate shoes for a trail walk or run.

 

No pets or strollers allowed on the course at this race.

Packet Pick up: Saturday, April 25, 2020, 10-2 pm

At The Vernet Building, Glen Helen, 405 Corry Street, YS Ohio 45387. Parking located next to the building.

There is no charge for parking if you mention you are here for the 5k-10k Packet Pick up.

There will be a Native Plant Swap and Earth Day activities that day as well at The Vernet Building,

Final Packet Pick up and “Day of” Registration Sunday, April 26, 2020

Please note: There is a $5 fee added for day-of registrations 8:30 am at the race location, main tent.

 

Run/Walk Description of course: Intensity level: medium to high.

Participants will run or walk through the Glen Helen Nature Preserve across natural terrain, trails, and meadows.

Awards

This race is chip timed. Medals will be given to overall M/F winners and the top M/F winners of each race by age group.

Awards will begin at 11:30 am

 

Parking the day of the race! There is no parking at the race location.

Parking IS available at:

The Yellow Springs High School, 420 E. Enon Street, YS, Ohio 45387

The John Bryon Center, 100 Dayton Street, YS, Ohio 45387

A free bus will be available for pick up’s and drop-offs to parking areas and event staging areas starting at 8:30 am.

There is no charge for the shuttle or for parking at these locations.

 

Bike and bag check

Please consider biking or walking into the Outdoor Education Center from the parking areas. There will be a bike corral and a bag check near the main tent.

 

Food and Water

Please eat a meal before you arrive at the Glen Helen Earth Day 5k-10k. Bananas will be available at the race.

There are two water stops on each course as well as at the finish line. Please bring any special dietary food or drink you may need.

 

First Aid

The Yellow Springs Fire and Rescue are on standby in case of emergency. Volunteer Trail Monitors will contact 911 in case of an emergency. Basic first aid for minor cuts, scrapes will be available at the main tent.
